Production Planner

Production Planner Role Purpose:
The Production Planner is a key team member primarily responsible for effective scheduling more than 30 production lines in a high-volume Tier-1 Automotive Manufacturing facility.
The Production Planner is responsible for effective WIP and Finished Goods inventory management in support of US Continuous Velocity Joint (CVJ) manufacturing facilities.
This position focuses on effective production planning throughout an internal supply and external supplier network.
The successful candidate must ensure appropriate use of system tools and constantly drive accuracy in planning data.
Key
Responsibilities:
o Support 90-day MPS plan through release of daily/weekly build schedules to supporting facilities o Develop build schedules for assigned OEM lines o Serve as key customer plant contact o Establish Kanban card requirements for finished assemblies and major components o Ensure interval calculations are maintained o Prepare truck schedules to meet customer demand o Coordinate prototype, PSW builds and service builds o Ensure manufactured component availability o Prioritize and sequence assembly o Communicate performance measurements for assigned areas (on-time delivery, attainment) o Support planning requirements through appropriate MRP review, EDI Releases, ASN management o Participate in plant improvements programs (CI, VMI, eKanban) o Drive KPI improvement (Stock Turns, Premium Freight, Supplier DSA, Customer DSA, Customer Past Due) o Promote the companys values o Support the intern/co-op program developing new talent to bring into the organizationQualifications / Experience / Skills:
o Excellent written, verbal communication and analytical skills o 3
years inventory/production planning experience in a high volume manufacturing environment (preferably automotive) o MRP based planning experience required, EDI Release management preferred o Kanban/pull systems and systems management preferred o Education required:
