Quality Engineer
Quality Engineer Role Purpose:
Quality Engineer is responsible for maintaining the Quality Operating System, ensuring the overall quality of the product and 100% compliance to both TS-Customer specific requirements.
Key
Responsibilities:
o Review advance blueprints to determine gage costs and timing.
o Visit Customer sites, write reports, and initiate actions to solve customer problems.
o Work with suppliers on improving quality, and conduct internal & external (Supplier) audits and issue reports outlining the results of the audit.
o Develop and initiate methods, procedures and embedded tests for inspection, testing and evaluation of manufactured products.
o Design forms for recording, evaluation, and reporting quality and reliability data.
o Compile and write training materials and procedures; conduct training sessions for quality related topics.
o Participate in machine/gage prove off evaluations (MSA, R&R
Cpk/Cmk studies, etc.
) o Participate in and support facility quality and manufacturing programs.
o Participate in facility problem solving activities to reduce scrap, increase capability and productivity, taking lead role for all Quality-related problem solving.
o Procure gages required for prototype/production on a timely basis.
o Understand of, and ability to apply SPC.
o Coordinate ISIR and other requirements as necessary to support Stage C new programs and stage D mature programs following AIAG & Customer specifications.
o Co-author PFMEA/Control Plan development in collaboration with x-functional team, ensuring adherence to AIAG guidelines.
o Knows significant environmental aspects of the job and the related operational controls.
Qualifications / Experience / Skills o BS Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
o 5 years experience in Quality Assurance and Manufacturing environment.
o ASQC Certified Quality Engineer strongly desired.
o Experience in an ISO9000 or TS16949 environment is preferred.
o Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
o Lean Enterprise experience.
o Computer Skills (MS Word, Excel, MS Project, MfgPro, Kronos).
